About Ian’s Wings of Light Foundation
This is a 501c3 non-profit memorial foundation in honor of our amazing son Ian Duchemin that was killed in a boating incident in Old Saybrook, CT on September 2, 2024.
Our Mission
Our mission is to assist high school graduates in obtaining the opportunity to pursue their goals in a blue-collar skilled trade environment.
Whether it is schooling and/or necessary tools to achieve long term success in the trade of choice. Some examples may include plumber, carpenter, vessel mechanic, electrician, etc.
With your help, we can financially assist young adults towards the pathway to live their best lives with a promising future.
About Ian
Ian was ambitious, witty, compassionate and talented young man. Ian had a natural knack for all things mechanical.
He followed his passion by furthering his education at the Marine Mechanics Institute in Florida, in which he earned his Occupational Associate Degree. Ian then went on to work as a very successful diesel marine mechanic.
